Day fair and pleasant Batallion exercise morning & evening by Lieut Col. Leightfoot
Turner engineer from N.C. arrived in camp bringing intelligence of the capture of a vessel near Hatteras also 2000 stand of arms blankets shooes etc Last night rockets were thrown up by some party on the river and a number of guns fired
To night John Gibson came to me to talk about the salvation of his soul and enquire what he must do to be saved
