Item description: Advertisement, “Timber Wanted at the North Carolina Arsenal and Armory,” dated 29 November 1861 but which first appeared in The Daily Journal (Wilmington, N. C.) on 13 December 1861, page 4, column 1.  A request for sealed proposals by 1 January 1862, the advertisement is accompanied by a second advertisement, “More Timber Wanted at the North Carolina Arsenal and Armory,” dated December 10, which ran adjacent to the earlier advertisement.  Both advertisements ran in The Daily Journal through 31 December 1861.
