Richmond       Nov 25th

Dear Father

According to your and my request I write you a few lines to let you know how I am getting along    I am improving as fast as I can expect yet I am very bad off yet but I hope through the miracles of god to be able soon to travel in a week or two   I want you to write to me when you got home and how you got along [undecipherable] cant you also    how all was at home and how you get along with your work and write in particular when J.F. Goodman is coming to help me home and write as soon as you get my letter   when he is coming and if he can to bring me some little provision with him and an old Roomy pair of shoes if he can and a little more brandy   my bowls do very well at present and my feet is still improvin so that I think I can go in ten or twelve days at the farthest    be sure dear father and get Mr. Goodman to come and fail not to write and direct your letters   write   so I will have to close by praying to god that we may meet each other shortly
