J&J H Webb Esq.
Dear Sir I received a day or two ago from B Obendorfer the amount of your debt placed in my hand for suit by the clerk of our court. I got the judgment last year & our state law prevents the making of the debt until a day or so since finding that Obendorfer was about moving away I told him he must pay the debt before leaving our county which he did after some little resistance not knowing in these troubled times when you are doing triumph. I write to ask in what way you want the money sent. If to your foremen add ref. to which place I direct the letter. I can deposit the money in the Bank here & send you my check endorsed good by the cashier unless you prefer some other mode. Let me know whether I can get ten bunches (bales we call them) of cotton 8 of them no 8 & 2 no 10. The price & the charges by Express to Petersburg VA
Very Respectfully Yours &c
Jno R Wilson
